1. Using this service
These terms apply to FIELDLIGHT at https://orbivista.link. Read them alongside the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these conditions, do not use the service. Nothing here removes rights or protections that applicable law does not allow to be waived.
2. What FIELDLIGHT provides
FIELDLIGHT publishes educational hiking and camping guides and browser-based planning tools. It does not sell equipment, arrange trips, take bookings, provide emergency monitoring, or offer personalized professional advice. Reading a guide or saving a checklist does not establish a guiding or safety-supervision relationship.
3. Responsible use
Use the website lawfully. Do not disrupt its availability, attempt unauthorized access, distribute malicious code, impersonate someone, or infringe another person’s rights. Do not use information on this site to ignore closures, permits, fire restrictions, or land-manager directions. Do not collect private information about other users or falsely attribute your material to FIELDLIGHT.
4. Original content and permitted uses
Original article text, site design, and branding have rights separate from third-party photographs and references. You may share links and use material where its license or applicable law permits. Otherwise, seek permission before republishing substantial content or presenting it as your own. Naming a product or organization does not imply endorsement or affiliation.
You may read, print, or keep a personal copy of a guide for planning. If you quote a short extract, identify FIELDLIGHT and link to the original page; any use must still comply with applicable law and the rights of third parties. Permission for personal reference is not permission to mirror the site, sell a collected edition, or imply our endorsement of another service.
5. Third-party images and attribution
Photography remains subject to the creator’s rights and the license identified in its credit. A Creative Commons license may require attribution, a license link, identification of changes, or share-alike terms. A public-domain designation has a different basis. Check the original source before reuse; a local WebP conversion does not grant new rights. Article credits appear beside their images; the homepage credit is also available in the source directory.

6. Copyright and removal requests
Email the contact address below with “Copyright” in the subject. Identify the original work, the exact FIELDLIGHT URL or image involved, the basis of your rights or authority, and a way to contact you. Include enough information for us to understand the claim and a statement that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge. We may ask for clarification and review whether removal, replacement, or a correction is appropriate. Do not include unnecessary identity documents in an initial message.
7. Editorial scope
Guides explain general principles using identified references. They are not live destination reports or claims of firsthand equipment testing. Examples labeled hypothetical are illustrative. Source selection does not imply an organization has approved FIELDLIGHT. Commercial inquiries do not establish an agreement to publish or endorse material.
8. External websites
External links are provided for context, evidence, or licensing information. Their operators control their availability, content, products, and privacy practices. Verify that the linked page applies to your location and activity; an older source may not describe current conditions.
9. Outdoor decisions and emergencies
Outdoor activities involve changing conditions and risks. Check current local access, weather, terrain, wildlife, fire, water, and emergency guidance. Match the outing to the group’s skills and equipment. This site cannot determine whether a specific trip is safe. In an emergency, use the appropriate local emergency service rather than the contact email.
10. Planning-tool limits
Saved plans and checklist entries remain in the browser profile and can be lost. They are not automatically shared, backed up, or checked by FIELDLIGHT. Export or print a copy when needed, give your trip contact the relevant information yourself, and verify that person understands the overdue plan. A checked box does not prove an item is suitable or a requirement has been met.
11. Availability and accuracy
The service is provided as available. We aim to improve accuracy but cannot promise uninterrupted access, complete information, or that every error will be identified immediately. Forecasts, source pages, equipment instructions, and local requirements can change. Report a specific error through the Contact page.
12. Responsibility and applicable protections
You remain responsible for your choices and for checking information relevant to an outing. To the extent allowed by applicable law, FIELDLIGHT does not warrant that general educational content will meet an individual trip’s requirements. These terms do not exclude responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, and do not impose an arbitrary monetary cap.
13. Accounts, messages, and your own entries
No account is required and the site offers no public posting or message-submission service. The contact address is plain text. Sending an email separately is your choice; this website neither opens an email application nor confirms delivery.
Writing a plan or checklist does not publish it to FIELDLIGHT or grant a publication license over your entries. Include only information you are entitled to use, and consider the privacy of a trip contact before giving a copy to someone else. Sending a correction or source suggestion likewise does not authorize publication of your private contact details.
14. Changes to the service or terms
Content, features, and these terms may be updated. The current version and update date appear on this page. Review changes relevant to a feature before using it. An update does not remove non-waivable rights.
15. Questions and disputes
Raise a concern at the contact address with the relevant page and a description of the issue. These terms do not select a foreign court, require private arbitration, or waive collective rights. Applicable law and any mandatory consumer protections govern those questions.
16. Related notices
These terms and the Privacy Policy describe the service’s use and data handling. Specific third-party licenses govern the third-party material they cover and are not replaced by these terms.
17. Severability
If a provision cannot be enforced under applicable law, that does not automatically invalidate the remaining provisions, subject to any requirements of that law.
18. No implied waiver
A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not by itself waive the ability to raise it later, subject to applicable law.
19. Contact
Contact FIELDLIGHT at [email protected]. Copy the address into the email service you choose. This website does not open an email application or submit messages.
